Loading Dock Preventative Maintenance


Routine maintenance is critical to keep Dock Levelers and EODs operating safely and as designed. With a rigorous quarterly preventative maintenance plan, you can safeguard your investment. Contact our team for information on preventative maintenance. 


As part of our preventative maintenance service, you can count on us to;

  • Inspect the frame for structural integrity – excess rust and damage.
  • Inspect unit for broken welds.
  • Inspect all major components for wear.
  • Inspect the electrical components (air powered/hydraulic units).
  • Inspect the electrical outlet for connections and protective covers.
  • Inspect the push button for cracks and proper operation.
  • Inspect the toe guards to ensure they are in place.
  • Inspect lip assist chain and spring.
  • Inspect the dock leveler springs.
  • Inspect the gas springs or airbags (if equipped).
  • Inspect for missing hardware.
  • Inspect the hold down assembly (if equipped).
  • Clear loading dock levelers of any debris, including under the leveler.
  • Inspect dock brush seal on the sides and rear of unit.
  • Lubricate the unit in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendation.
  • Operate each dock leveler as required by manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspect the dock lights for proper operation.
  • Inspect the dock pads or dock shelter for significant wear.
  • Inspect the dock bumpers – wear of bumper and welds at attachment point.
